EDGE Coaching Study Groups

  1. Follows a specific agenda.
  2. Meets the criteria for the Teacher Study Group Innovation Configuration researched by Dr. Rita Henriquez-Roark (1995).
  3. Members observe each other's classroom teaching through a physical visit or with video conferencing over SKYPE.
  4. Coaches fill out appropriate coaching forms for the coachee.
  5. All members of a teacher's immediate EDGE Coaching Study Group must agree that the candidate has reached a Level of Use equal to Level V or above on all of the components from the Teacher IC before an Expert Coaching Committee begins to work with him/her.
  6. The Expert Coaching Committee will observe and coach the teacher to confirm their readiness for being recommended to the Southern Union K-12 Board of Education as a candidate for the Teacher of Excellence Award.
